Daniel P. Gerrard, 67, of Glen Aubrey, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Dan was born in Cortland, NY on December 20, 1958, the son of the late Robert and Sally Falso Gerrard. His presence was defined by his generosity, hard work, and the love he shared with his family and friends.

Dan is survived by his wife, Susan Leonard Gerrard, who was his companion and steadfast supporter through the journey of life. He leaves behind his cherished children: sons Travis Gerrard and Patrick Gerrard, daughters Chelsea Gerrard and Caitlyn Gerrard, as well as step-daughter Lisa Moshier. His legacy continues in his grandchildren, Cadence Gerrard, Payton Gerrard, and his pride and joy, Wyatt Clapper.

He will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Phoebe Piech; his half-brother Steven Soper; and his half-sister Stephanie (Kevin) Dean. His extended family includes his aunt, Shirley Burk; his uncle Carmen (Barbara) Falso; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who held him dear.

In addition to his parents, Dan joins in peace his daughter, Angela Gerrard; a brother Robert Gerrard, Jr. and sister Sallie Ann Soshinsky, whose memories he treasured. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Dominick and Virginia (Barnes) Falso and Daniel and Anna Belle Gerrard Merzke, and an aunt, Sandy Smith, and a brother-in-law, Mark Piech.

Throughout his life, Dan was known for his industrious spirit. He found fulfillment and camaraderie in his work as a roofer with Roofer's Local Union 203 in Binghamton. Friends and colleagues will remember him as a true handyman and a hard worker, always ready with a helping hand for both loved ones and strangers alike.  Prior to the union, he had worked for his uncle Al Falso at the Falso Music Store.  He had also been previously employed at Gregg's Big M in Whitney Point as well as doing private work for Marv Gregg.  In his spare time he would complete odd jobs such as mowing lawn and ultimately went to work for Paul Yaman's Construction.

Dan's interests painted a portrait of a man who lived fully and passionately. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his brother Bobby, reflecting the deep bond they shared. Music was a constant companion in his life, and he approached the world with compassion—an animal lover and a friend to all creatures. Those close to him will recall his enthusiasm for Syracuse and Dallas sports teams and his light-hearted joy in taking chances on lotto tickets.

Above all, Dan cherished spending time with his family and friends. His warm, giving nature earned him the admiration and affection of all who knew him. His kindness, reliability, and sense of humor have left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.

Dan’s life was one of service, warmth, and unwavering dedication. His legacy endures within his family, friends, and community, each day shaped by the memories and love he so willingly gave. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
