Richard E. Bailey

Richard E. Bailey, 78, of Marathon, NY, passed away unexpectedly, at his home, on Saturday, August 7, 2021.

Richard was born in Johnson City, NY, on November 15, 1942, the son of the late Courtney and Ruth Lingel Bailey. He was a dairy farmer for his entire life and enjoyed working the land.

He is survived by his children, Brian Bailey, of Marathon, and Yvonne Bailey, of Marathon. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Courtney Donald (Geraldine) Bailey of Lebannon, OR, Benjamin (Mickey) Bailey of Lebannon, OR, and Adrian (Kristy) Bailey of Woodburn, OR; sisters, Lois Root of Whitney Point and Georgeanna (Adrian) Price of Vestal; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Bailey of Lisle; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, JoAnn Hoffmier Bailey on March 3, 2021; a brother, John Herbert Bailey; and sisters, Betty Wood, Kathryn Knapp and Paula Beebe.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services.
