Sally M. Prentice

Sally M. Prentice, 40, of Marathon, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at her home in Marathon.

Sally was born in Cortland, NY, of May 5, 1981, the daughter of the late Babe and Dorene Rutan Prentice.  She was a graduate of McGraw Central School.  Sally was a devoted mother who loved her family dearly.  She loved to crochet, enjoyed drawing, and was an excellent artist.

She is survived by her children, Ethan Sutton and Kayla Sutton, both of Marathon; a sister, Chera (William Brenchley) Sutton of Marathon; and a brother, Michael (Stephanie) Prentice of Clay.  She also leaves behind her stepmother, Kathy Prentice of Marathon; step-siblings, Don (Cheranda) Hinshaw of Marathon, Eileen (John) Storie of Marathon, Becky (Ed) Kent of Homer, and Jamie Hinshaw of Homer; several aunts,  uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A calling hour will be held at the Marathon Memorial Chapel, 4071 State Route 221, Marathon, NY, on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  There will be no formal funeral service.  Burial will be in McGraw Cemetery.
